Honeypot field option for WordPress
We've added an additional feature if you want to improve your Anti-Spam protection. When spambots come to a website form, they fill out each input field. This means that we can add a special field for spambots. The honeypot field option adds a hidden field to the form. Regular visitors can't see this field, but spambots can. When a regular visitor fills out the form and submits it, the honeypot field is empty. A spambot fills out all fields and the honeypot field will be not empty. It helps a lot to detect spambots.
You can find this option in the Data Processing section here:
WordPress Dashboard -> Settings -> Antispam by Cleantalk -> Advanced settings
This field is working for:
- Standard WordPress registration form
- WooCommerce checkout form
- Contact Forms: Contact Form 7, WPForms, Gravity Forms, Elementor.
